RAMP Coordinator of the Year: Pat Brinkman

The Routine Airport Maintenance Program (RAMP) was established in 1996 as a grant program to support general maintenance and improvement projects in our airport system. RAMP is supported by all 25 TxDOT districts and is available to nearly 300 airports statewide.

RAMP coordinators are TxDOT district designated employees who work with the Aviation Division to provide assistance to airports in their districts. TxDOT districts perform many maintenance functions at our airports with considerable cost savings.

The RAMP Coordinator of the Year award is determined in one of two ways — from a coordinator with many years of dedication to a coordinator who has had an outstanding year.

Pat Brinkman, this year’s recipient of the RAMP Coordinator of the Year award from the Amarillo District, has demonstrated an exceptional level of commitment to supporting aviation infrastructure across the region.

Known for a proactive and solutions-focused approach, Brinkman works closely with airport sponsors, engineers and division staff to identify maintenance needs and ensure projects move forward effectively. Brinkman’s technical expertise and clear communication with the division have helped address issues promptly while maximizing the program’s resources.

Brinkman was recognized not only for responsiveness and knowledge, but also for his deep understanding of the unique needs of the district’s airports. Dedication and initiative have made Brinkman a valued asset to the TxDOT Aviation team and to the aviation system across Texas.
